Learning to See When the Lights Go Out
It did not look like the "Bawl Room" on a typical Saturday evening. There were Chandaliers hanging from the ceiling, a garden complete with fountains in the lobby, 36 elegant dining tables, each with it's own dessert centerpiece, and candles lighting it all. It is becoming my specialty to transform spaces. Barns and Gymnasiums turn to Banquet Halls overnight. This was a particularly special event because of its purpose-providing encouraging resources to people who are hurting. There were over 500 candles (electric and "real") in the gym giving it elegance and keeping with the theme for the evening. Everyone really enjoyed the event, and I look forward to designing and decorating for them again next year.

Sink or Swim?
We chose to Sail...over to Lynden Farm!

Due to recent rain in Northern Virginia, Carly and Tommy's original venue was changed from their Church's property in Leesburg to Lynden Farm in Philomont- the
Monday before their
Saturday wedding! Plans were quickly re-arranged, guests were contacted, and the couple couldn't have been happier. The Lynden Arena was set up for the Reception on one end with extra space reserved for the Ceremony on the other. The decision to have the Ceremony in or out didn't have to be made until 11:00am on Saturday! Carly and Tommy got to have their dream Ceremony outside and didn't have to give the rain a second thought.
